Disclaimer: This "species study guide" is written in the POV of Firuz the Hoopa, a character from :iconpkmn-knight-academy:. In no way does this relate to any other Pokémon canon besides the one for said setting, nor does this reflect my own personal opinions about the Pokémon mentioned nor any characters whose species happen to match the creatures in question. This is all meant in good humor.

SPECIES STUDY: Raichu (Mus Dipodomys)

(a study report by Firuz of the House of Libsi)

According to the Tome Of The Ancient Bulbasaur, the Raichu is a small, fuzzy, bipedal Electric-type Pokémon that is the final form of the Pichu line, who evolve when Pikachu are exposed to the radiation of a Thunder Stone. Its electricity, charged from within its electrical cheek sacs, can reach over 100,000 volts, which stimulates its body and increases its strength and aggression to better allow it to defend itself against larger opponents. Oftentimes it'll look to manage its power by planting its tail into the ground to discharge the excess. Its moveset, befitting the fact that it's a pure Electric-type, focuses primarily on using its electricity both offensively and defensively, as well as taking advantage of its great speed to run circles around the competition before coming in with a surprise hit. Its actual defenses are a bit on the frail side, however, meaning it's unlikely to survive a strong Ground-type move if it manages to hit.

Which is all well and good, but to be honest, this tome is severely lacking in truly useful information. Back in my home country, Raichu and their pre-evolved selves are something of a rarity, as when the first Hoopa began to colonize the island of Libsi, they were among the many native Pokémon in the area that my ancestors used both to feed on as well as to train to hunt down Water-types to feed on those as well. As time passed on and we were able to find better means to feed ourselves, eating Raichu became a sort of delicacy, to be enjoyed around the springtime in a cultural tradition that gives thanks to the fact that they were among the many Pokémon that helped my people survive in the once deserted island.

In fact, one of my personal favorite meals to eat during the springtime celebration - or any season, really - is Raad Kebab. It's tasty and fairly easy to prepare! I even went to the trouble of giving you my favorite recipe, which Thamina helped me modify the measurements for you Tora residents.

Ingredients

  • Minced Raichu Meat 1 kg (can be substituted with Pichu or Pikachu meat, though the texture will be very different between these)
  • 1 whole de-poisoned Oddish (or 1 large onion for a substitute)
  • 4 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • ½ bunch coriander
  • 4-6 green chilies
  • 4 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes (Can also use powdered Babiri or Chople berries if you want it to have more kick)
  • 1 tsp Parasect Stun Spore (black pepper powder can be used as a substitute)
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • Oil for greasing tray

Cooking Directions

  1. Mix together your Oddish, ginger garlic paste, coriander and green chilies. If it's a bit too tough to mix, add a bit of lemon juice to smooth out the texture.
  2. Add your Raichu mince into the mixture and...well, mix!
  3. Now add the chili flakes, the Parasect Stun Spore, cumin powder and turmeric, then continue mixing.
  4. Shape the mixed mince onto the kebabs and place them on your greased baking tray.
  5. Grill the kebabs at high heat 200 C for about 10 minutes. When you see it bubbling, turn the kebab over so can properly grill it on both sides.
  6. Grill it for about 10-15 minutes more or until slightly brown.
  7. If you want to it to taste a bit more BBQ-like, you can transfer your raad kebab to a barbecue grill instead (or a helpful partner that knows low-powered Fire-type moves) to help give the kebabs a nice, smokey flavor.
  8. Serve with some naan bread, chutney and your choice of salad.

And with that, you're done! Enjoy your delicious and MAGNIFICENT Libsi springtime-anytime delicacy with much joy and health!
Also my very informative report.

"Strange, this is the second time homework has made me hungry. Maybe I should look into that cooking club they have now sometime..."

Firuz was given Raichu to study.

This may not have been a good idea.
