So I found out recently via another artist that Sonic The Hedgehog had a birthday yesterday (specifically, the North American and European release date for the first Sonic The Hedgehog game for the Genesis). Wanting to give tribute to the character that was one of my greatest artistic inspirations of all time (and wanting to draw my character Lightning in a style giving tribute to his old look), I did this. Also, Lightning is among many, MANY characters who may well not even exist were it not for Sonic's influence, hence why he's paired up here with the Blue Blur himself.

By the way, I know this is probably futile, but mind not going on about how much Sonic sucks in the comments, please? I know, I agree his new games leave a lot to be desired, I've heard it all before. I just want to be nostalgic of the days when he (he the character) didn't have such a sucky rep, that's all.
